Ready to Transition to the Digital Age? This is how they did it.

With the industry in the midst of a technological revolution, print newspapers have had to overcome a unique set of challenges. Since the advent of Web media and mobile devices, new consumer habits and shifting commercial trends have left many print publishers searching for new ways to grow their audience.


This includes Groupe Capitales Medias (GCM), which owns six daily newspapers in two Canadian provinces.


In recent years, GCM had, like many publishers across North America, experienced a steady decline in its print readership and ad revenue, even though its Web outlets were reaching new readers every year. To mitigate its losses, the company had to find a quick and cost-effective way to breach the app market and transition into the digital age.
